Sewing for me...

Tonight I needed to sew something, so I made myself a hot pad.  It has been on my to-sew list for a very long time. I pieced it together with scraps and put a layer of insul-bright in the middle. There should probably be a loop on the corner too but I was lazy and thought I'd figure that out on the next one.

Doug was questioning the thickness of it, so I probably should consult a tutorial before I make #2.  But I love how it looks with my new oven mits. I know it will make me smile every time I open the kitchen drawer.  Oh and here's the back. It matches my valences.

I can't tell how thick yours is, but don't you want a hot pad to be thick??

I've also thought on the next ones I make I'd try putting a grommet in corner, so you could hang them on a hook. All you need is a grommet set and a good hammer!!

Love the colors and fabrics!! :)
